I checked into the Elecraft SSB net on Sunday 04/01/2012. Signals were good to me this time from net control, WC7S. A few minutes into it I thought- I should record this and post it up for all to hear! So I starting recording and it starts out with N6JW assisting net control.
Highlights: KB9AVO, Paul at about 5:15 on the time scale checking in with his new KX3 (#24) W7LRY, Larry at about 10:20 with K3 #6347- this was his first QSO with the rig! KB9AVO, Paul makes contact with K6XX, Robert at about 27:30- a KX3 to KX3 contact. Paul on his #24 rig and Robert on his #5 rig, both new production units! FWIW- I was recording from the Line out of the back of my K3 into the Line In of my desktop computer, a Windows7 machine using the basic Sound Recorder. The K3 was set to use the basic 5 pole 2.7k filter with a NR setting of 5-1. Listening with simple wire antennas- one broadside to the northeast (an 88ft doublet fed with ladderline and an MFJ986 tuner) and the other broadside to the northwest (an OCF 80m dipole, LMR400 fed, using the internal KAT3 ATU). I did swap between the antennas several times to get the best signal levels for the different stations. Please forgive my noise levels! The .wav file was about 35mb so I converted it to an .mp3 to conserve space and make it easier to download. There is about 30 minutes of audio.
