I really should add to my webpage K2 filter settings page (part of the K2 Dial Calibration article) information about setting the K2 RTTY filter set. My settings work well with PSK31 or RTTY and many other digital modes.
I normally set the K2 RTTY filter FL1 settings the same as the setting for SSB - the "width" is FL1, and the BFO settings are the same as for SSB FL1 - those settings allow "full waterfall display" operation from the low 100 kHz range to the upper limits of the SSB filter (2.3 kHz to 2.8 kHz). So the RTTY filter set for the FL1 position is exactly the same as the SSB FL1 position. For the more narrow rtty filter settings, I prefer to set the widths at 1.00, 0.70, and 0.40 kHz - then set the BFOs so those filters are centered at 1000 Hz. It would be nice to use a higher frequency, but the BFO may run out of range if you try to push the limits. If you have the KDSP2 installed, edit the KDSP2 center frequencies for the RTTY filter set and adjust them to the 1,00 frequency to agree with your new IF filter settings. 73, Don W3FPR On 4/2/2012 10:45 PM, John Ragle wrote: > If you intend to operate digital with a K2, you will need the SSB unit. ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
