Get the K3. Get it with the options that fit your budget. I'm now at 87 confirms on LOTW toward DXCC CW with a K3 @5W into wire antennas in a HOA area. Most of that just this year as I got really going during ARRL CW DX.
My point is it's a great rig and you can start out with what you can afford now and work your way up while having more than the legal limit of fun. You won't outgrow it. Very easy to add options when you want.
