You can frequently find RG400 jumpers for sale on eBay, with useful lengths, even if you have to cut off the connectors already on them. They sometimes have one or more BNC connectors already on the cable. RG400 is still made new and is rated for the kinds of sharp bends that are found in aircraft wiring harnesses. This is really good stuff that will last a lifetime. Rated at many times ham radio QRO power level. It's good for SHORT runs in a station, very flexible and looks good bundled up. It's the same outside diameter as RG58 and uses the UG175 adapter as a good fit adapter to put a PL259 on the end(s). What I like the most about it, is in soldering connectors, you CAN'T MELT it. You can strip a bit of the outside jacket and sweat (solder) the shield to copper strap without harming it in any way, for excellent grounding and bonding of stuff running around the station. I've only ever been able to do that with teflon coax.
Once you get to know all RG400's advantages, it kind of grows on you. 73, Guy On Sun, Apr 8, 2012 at 8:10 PM, Bob Nielsen <[email protected]> wrote: > RG142 has a copperweld center conductor which isn't very flexible RG400 is > similar but has a stranded center conductor and is more flexible (but also > expensive). > > 73, Bob N7XY > > On Apr 8, 2012, at 11:24 AM, David Cutter wrote: > >> I think RG142 is closer.
