This was one of the things that used to always annoy me about my K3 until; I set it up for 15v with a heavy duty cable to replace the factory supply cable.
Now I get full power at instant on turn on, all day long. I think it is the current sensor knocking back the power until things settle down, but at a stiff 15v everything plays nice. I never see high current warnings like I used to either. The 15v HD cable setup I implemented fixed every aspect of K3 problems I did not like.
