Recollections of firemen in the holds trying to deal with rising water, officers confused about the lifeboats, the surviving R.O. about the messages he received and transmitted and many if not all of the surviving passengers. Some years ago I read the whole thing end to end. It was as had to "put down" as the best thriller novel I've ever read.
