Hi all I know the deet thread has ended but nobody mentioned that deet melts some plastics.
KX3's have plastic knobs readout covers etc, and are hand held!!!! Be careful !! I melted the plastic on the back cover of a microphone while using it not long after applying a deet based repellent and not washing it off my hands I looked at my hand and there was black stuff on it and the mic had my hand print in it (still HAS). Nasty stuff no wonder the bugs hate it , makes you wonder if it melts some plastic and bugs wont go near it WHAT'S IT DOING TO US!!!!!
