Lee: If the K3 has been back to Aptos for updates, I would expect that this change has already been made. K3 Service should be able to tell you if this is the case. Also I believe the mod instructions provide info on how to measure and confirm the value of the current resistor and whether or not a change is necessary. Good Luck
