Sebastian, Be careful - do not jump to conclusions. The older XV144 crystals were pretty close to the correct frequency. Then the manufacturer lost the design (I am not sure how that happened), and began shipping crystals that were a bit higher in frequency. Since things cannot go "backwards" to recover, the L19 addition was created to compensate for the new crystals.
So bottom line, if you have an older XV144 and add L19, you will find the Local Oscillator frequency will be significantly lower than 116 MHz. Yes, the addition of L19 to the older crystal will allow you to pull it, but you will not be able to get the frequency high enough. 73, Don W3FPR On 4/23/2012 8:26 PM, Sebastian, W4AS wrote: > I noticed this today, good for those who have older XV144s: > > Addition of L19 to the XV144 to allow pulling of osc. frequency. > > > ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
