Hi Ed, I could never understand why folks think its so important for the I.F. radio (flex1500, kx3, whatever) to have a serious need to be locked to a 10 MHz standard.
Its the down converter that really matters and using one of n5acs nice little apollo boxes handles that nicely. The I.F. radio is normally within a few hundred Hz and that error does not multiply. It is translated directly to the output frequency by addition of the L.O. so it doesnt matter much.
