I ordered a second K3 at Dayton. It arrived Friday (I requested delayed delivery). Its a fairly "vanilla" K3/100: KXV3, 400 Hz filter. I built and tested it on Saturday, and made first contacts Sunday morning.
Several things worth noting: 1. The Assembly Manual (Rev L7) has been fined tuned. I noticed several changes from my previous build (2008) that really improved the build process. 2. The Parts List could be improved. It should list the parts in the individual bags (rather than a semi-composite list of all of the Zinc 1/4" 4-40 screws). This is done in some cases, not others. 3. No missing parts! 4. Once I got the new K3 tested and configured, it works and performs EXACTLY like my older one (I have kept up with the mods on #994). I think this is truly remarkable!!
