Sorry to see that problem still persists, I ran into the same issue when I 
built mine last year.

It's very simple to fix.  Take a small sewing needle, or a small paper clip, 
insert it into that blocked pin, and start to pick at the 'plug' until you 
remove it.  From what I recall it's a relatively small plug that doesn't go all 
the way into the connector.

The other alternative is to use a computer hard drive cable, or floppy cable I 
don't remember which one.  That's all that cable is, there's nothing special 
about it.  However you might find the same blocked pin on a computer cable.
