My arm was twisted enough so that I took the K3 and later the P3 for
their first field outing. I think they really enjoyed being out in an
RF quiet location for a change where the K3's noise blanker took a rest
and the P3's REF LVL had to be adjusted into the -140 dBm range as here
at the house it spends most of its time around -102 dBm.

Each unit performed flawlessly and never did I hear any receiver
collapse even when I noticed the NB was still turned on while on a very
busy 20m phone portion. No one complained and I received comments on
the clear labeling and the ability to sit down and operate right away.
I also received comments on the clarity of the received audio.

Another K3 owner was with us and he had yet to install the 4.51
firmware. With my AGC THR set to 12 and AGC SLP set to 010, he may do
so. He did the bulk of the CW operation and I added a few. He was
pleased I brought my K3 out as his opinion is that the K3 is the finest
CW radio he has ever used and I don't think he wanted to use
anything less. :-)
