Wayne, I found the ATU menu "byP" entry - my apologies. I could not find it in the manual and assumed there was no bypass option because the switch arrangement on the front panel seemed to preclude the necessity of a bypass option; I should have run through the menu. I also should know by now that Elecraft leaves no stone unturned! I will try really hard to avoid making anymore dumb ASSumptions.
