ABSOLUTELY GET THE PREAMP! The K3 is a great radio but it is USUALLY hard of hearing on 6m without it. With the preamp, it is one of the best radios possible for 6m. I have very successfully used it on 6m EME DXpeditions to E51, 3D2 and 5W0. GL and VY 73, Lance
