I have also had the same issue. The main problem I believe is the speaker wire. In my case the heat shrink on the speaker wires was too long and thick causing it to be very stiff. This arrangement caused problems closing the case and allowing the wires to be pulled from the connector. After trying to reroute the wires several times, I took the heat shrink off and used electrical tape. This allowed the wires to be more flexible and easier to route. Another area to check is the battery holders. Make sure all the screws are firmly seated. If not it is possible that the battery holders could be preventing the other half from closing all the way down. I still have occasional issues closing the case but at least now it is acceptable.
