The forecasted CME has been delayed but should hit the Ionosphere after 2300z. Satellite instrumentation is now seeing the impact and it appears it may be large enough for visible Aurora, especially at Northern latitudes. The latest prediction is for a K-index of 8 which should be strong enough even for visible Aurora at lower latitudes if it holds.
Watch the Northern skies starting after your sunset. We should also hear some Au propagation beginning after 2300z. http://www.swpc.noaa.gov/wingkp/index.html (best prediction indicator IMHO) 73, Bill W4ZV -- View this message in context: http://elecraft.365791.n2.nabble.com/Aurora-Alert-Beginning-2300-UTC-tp7559099.html Sent from the Elecraft mailing list archive at Nabble.com. ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
