I received a K1 (used; I am the 3rd owner) today, and after unpacking
it, I hooked it up and started tuning around; I noticed the tuning was
extremely sloppy, mechanically and electrically...
I removed the top cover to investigate, and removed the tuning knob
(thinking perhaps the nut was loose - it was not); it appears that the
pot (100k ohm, linear taper) was damaged, perhaps by landing face first
on the shaft, as pressing lightly on the shaft seems to "disassemble"
the pot somewhat.
Has anyone else seen this?
Is there a more robust unit to effect the repairs with?
Any recommended approach to getting it apart and replacing the pot?
I am sure I can figure it out via the manual, just wondering if there
are any tricks, hints, kinks that make it less work (and it does not
seem that big a deal).
