I suspect one order is as good as another, since they go in three different areas of the K3: DVR in the front panel assembly, filter on the main RF board, and the KXV3A on the rear panel.
If you have the KRX3 sub-receiver installed, you'll have to remove it to install the filter and having the main KRX3 module out makes installing the KXV3A much easier, so I'd recommend pulling that and leaving it out until you've installed and tested all three options. If you have the K144XV 2-meter module installed, you'll need to remove it to get the KRX3 module out, so I'd put that back last, after the KRX3 module is back in and tested. 73, Ron AC7AC -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Mark Kempisty Sent: Friday, July 20, 2012 10:40 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [Elecraft] Best sequence to install I'm planning to add a few options to my K3 that I didn't get when I ordered it. The DVR, KXV3A and broadcast band filter. Since I wold like to only go into the radio once I plan to order all three at the same time. Any suggestions on the best way to tackle installation of these three divergent options? About the only common thing among them is taking the covers off.
