I recently upgraded my 2m transverter to utilize a freq synth LO (locked to ext ref.) and ran into an issue trying to use the KX3 as IF at 28-MHz. I have the transverter entries made on the KX3 menu for 144 to translate to 28 MHz but no signal is heard when the KX3 is connected and the 144 MHz channels selected from memory.
The receiver works fine if I dial in the frequency on 28-MHz but then I do not have the 144_MHz display of frequency. I wonder if transverter function is not active yet in the firmware. I programmed the KX3 memories using the Freq. Memory Editor sw. All other memory locations function on the KX3 so its strange that there seems no RF connection when memories programmed for 144-MHz.
