Eric did everyone a favor by announcing the pending increase, so we could order those Elecraft "goodies" that we want before the increase (assuming the budget allows that). So, if there are things you want and you can afford it, order now. Prices are increasing rapidly on such things as butter and eggs and fuel, so that makes an impact of other items (like electronic parts) too. Elecraft is not big enough to offer "loss leaders" like your local grocery store. The one thing that remains true - Elecraft's volume purchasing keeps the cost of the products as low as possible. If you want an exercise in the relative economics of volume, take one of the mini-module kits and add up the cost of the components purchased on a "onesey-twosey" basis from DigiKey or Mouser and you will find the cost of Elecraft kits is a bargain - you cannot homebrew that product for less - yes, I have done that exercise.
