David, DX4WIN works great with the K3. I use the K3 X4 file. I did have to make a couple of small changes to the rig file. You make those changes in DX4WIN. One small change keeps the K3 in CW Reverse mode (if desired). The other change corrects an incorrect command that reverses the filter settings between VFOs A and B. Finally, you have to make sure that you have VFO OFS set correctly within the K3 itself.
These three small changes will make the K3 operate smoothly with DX4WIN. I can send you details on all three if you need them. Just email me direct.
