Jim, The cable Elecraft sells is of top quality but is only 3 feet long. If that length is ok then get it. If you need longer cable you can build it. The schematic is in either the KPA500 construction or operation manual ( I think it is in the construction manual).
You need 2, 15 pin HD D connectors ( Male type ) and an old parallel printer cable or a old RS232 cable with DB 25 connectors at each end. It took me about 20 minutes to build mine after rounding up the parts.
