I had the K3 [#642] off [including the PS] while at Pacificon. I was going to give a generally useless try at ECN on 20 at 2200Z, and after turning everything on, as I tuned up to 14050, the TX LED flashed. No knob movement, nothing. Knob movement, it flashed fast, faster if I turned the knob faster.
Got to 14050, went to TUNE, and adjusted the antenna tuner for 1:1 SWR, and all is well. Have moved around on different bands since, and all is well. This has never happened before ... turn the "Big Knob" and radio goes into TX, seemingly at about the pulse rate of the encoder as I'm turning the knob. ECN didn't work, Kevin was unreadable on 20. Last year, we had a lot of summer Es on 20 and he was very readable.
