Hi David, Thanks for the response. This is exactly the kind of information which is helpful. And you're right. I misspoke, cannot use a 2m repeater for transmitting cw but I have an external keyer which will generate the tones so can hold down the ptt on the K3 and transmit that way. 73,

When I mentioned not needing the KXV3A I was making an assumption that your K3 already has the original KXV3 installed. Apart from the power cable the only additional cables you will need are a pair of BNC-BNC cables to connect the XV144 to the K3. You can drive the K3 with just 1mW of power from the XV144.
