Guess it depends upon the current demand, but some of my old home-built pc's
going back to a 486 processor machine used a couple of AA alkaline cells. I
changed them every year or two when I opened the system box to blow out the
dust and evict any critters who took up residence.

Hoping to take advantage of the knowledge base here.  Does anyone know of a
battery suitable for memory backup (installed life =  5 years or
more) that uses a chemistry other than lithium?  And hopefully comes in the
"coin cell" configuration?  I need to order some CR2032 size, with solder
tabs or PC pins, but the vendors tell me that lithium cells cannot be sent
via the postal service, and I refuse to pay upwards of
$25 shipping via UPS or FedEx for a $2.00 battery.
