Guess it depends upon the current demand, but some of my old home-built pc's going back to a 486 processor machine used a couple of AA alkaline cells. I changed them every year or two when I opened the system box to blow out the dust and evict any critters who took up residence.

Does anyone know of a battery suitable for memory backup (installed life = 5 years or more) that uses a chemistry other than lithium? And hopefully comes in the "coin cell" configuration? I need to order some CR2032 size, with solder tabs or PC pins, but the vendors tell me that lithium cells cannot be sent via the postal service, and I refuse to pay upwards of $25 shipping via UPS or FedEx for a $2.00 battery. -Jim, KL7CC ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
