I get good audio reports using a Yaesu MD100A8x that I kept from when I had
an FT-920 hooked to it.  I made up a custom cable between the mic base and
the K3 so the stock Yaesu one is undisturbed.

I'm guessing the venerable Kenwood MC-50/60 would also work very well.
