Hooked mine up to my Butternut HF2V vertical and got on 80 "early" Sunday
morning. Ran it at 5 watts on internal 2.5 amp hour NiMH batteries. Made 25
contacts for 19 sections in just over an hour with it and the battery voltage
only dropped from 10.2 to 9.6 indicated. Not a serious contest effort and 80
meters only but I did submit a "check-log". I heard KH7X in Hawaii on the low
end and he was booming in. He changed bands before I had a chance to call him
so I don't know if my setup could have made the trip.

I had absolutely no problems with hearing anyone, even the really weak ones
nestled right up to the 40 over 9 stations and only 2 of the stations I called
failed to answer and they had signals that were less than S8 here in Kansas.
Beautiful little rig and I couldn't be happier with it.
