Even easier: Why not just get a screw-on UHF connector cap? Fits perfectly, and it's the best "mike connector protector" ever - it makes sure a mike is never attached to my K2 so it can be used only for CW... :))))

I can't remember where I got mine but it was likely from a Diamond Antenna mobile mount, and I suspect you can find them elsewhere. If you can't, I will mai you one of my spares.
