I was going to ask, even before this thread... What do Elecraft and "Doctor Solder" recommend now that 60/40 doesn't officially exist?

... and what about temperature? Most of the lead-free solders have a much lower melting-point, which has pros and cons: probably means less thermal damage to components from your iron, but might also mean hot components like your PA desolder themselves earlier ;-)
