Bill, Unless you left something out of your steps taken, it seems that you did not properly tell K3 Utility where to find the files. The upper block must contain the file location information -- if it does not, click Browse and find the folder with the Beta files - then press Enter to record it.
I have a folder (in a place where I can access it from any computer on my network) labeled "K3 Betas" and under that, I create a folder for each beta release. Yes, I have to change the pointer in K3 Utility with each beta version I download, but it works for me. Not directly related to your situation, but I would like to add a bit of general information -- One thing about Elecraft firmware that seems not to be fully understood by some users is that each level has a unique number. When 4.58 (for instance) moves from a beta to a release/production version, there are no changes made to the code, other than where it lives on the Elecraft servers.
