The instructions are suitable for any microphone.
Set the compression to zero, then adjust the mic gain to give an
indication on the ALC meter of 5 to 7 bars. Do that in TX TEST mode so
you do not bother your ham neighbors.
Then listen to your own signal in the monitor and set the compression to
the desired level.
When you change microphones, go through the same process because all
mics are different.
Jim Brown K9YC has suggested that you go into TX EQ and turn the bottom
two bands to as low as you can get them to reduce the power-robbing low
frequencies that contribute nothing to the intelligence of a signal.
