Bob,
Look at the "Split Mode with the Sub receiver:" portion of the manual
As typical in split mode, you will transmit on VFO B and receive on VFO A.
Do not fall into the trap of mentally associating VFO A with the main
and VFO B with the sub. It is sometimes that way, but not always -
consider that there is no transmit associated with the subRX, but there
certainly is transmit associated with VFO B when in split.
If using the SubRX in diversity mode, split works the same as a K3
without the sub, but if you are in non-diversity, there is no need for
split - VFO A will be your TX frequency and VFO B will move the subRX to
whatever frequency you want to listen to (the DX station).

Bob,
That is the way it is supposed to work if you do not have a SubRX in
your K3.
Ah, but I do have a Sub-Rx and likely no clue how to make use of it yet.
Also, I was not using the Cans but rather just the Bose Speakers. I'll
have to try the Heil cans .. might be a nifty way to hear the other
freq.
So, what then is the correct way to work CW split since I have a matched
Sub-Rx in the K3?
