Hardly. Ragchewing on the air is a real time activity with a limited audience, while posting to an internet list is a wide area forum with people able to read and contribute when they feel like it. They really aren't the same thing at all, and aside from contesting I'd bet that the aggregate time spent by hams communicating with other hams (reading and writing) on the internet exceeds the time spent by hams on the air by at least ten to one ... and has for several years.
