I'm a freelance writer who has been writing manuals for Elecraft for 11 years, so far. It's not lost on me that many of the engineering staff are the same folks who I worked with on my first Elecraft project back in 2001.
They have grown significantly over that time and have added a number of people, every one of them good folks to work with. 73, Ron AC7AC -----Original Message----- We have the good luck to live a short drive from Elecraft central. CEO Eric was the principal speaker at PAARA radio club last Friday night. About a third of his talk was photos and snippets about members of the Elecraft team. Tenure of 10+ years was not uncommon, as were newbies because they're growing. Good vibes. This weekend I decided to add the ATU to my KX3 so I ordered it via web. Madelyn called this morning to say the order was ready so I drove down to pick it up. Order was ready on arrival but I was offered an impromptu tour ! Short version is that everyone from Madelyn to David to Howard and Joseph and Keith and ... were clearly enjoying themselves and enthusiastic about their role and the company. LOTS of activity in assembly areas; burn-ins; shipping, in-bound parts, etc. David was appropriately proud of the US content of the whole product line All said, it completely reinforced my Elecraft choices, particularly because I'm a veteran communications engineer from Apple with experience in wonderful, and not so wonderful product development. Real deal at Elecraft.
