Hi John: Yes I have one. It does a good job, but I found it "fiddly" with multiple set screws to adjust to hold it in the right position which tended to come loose at the most inopportune time because of the weight on the far end of the device. But it does add weight and extend the length of the pendulum - just what one needs for good speed control
It is one of several gadgets developed over the years to try to give the old Vibroplex bugs a better range of speeds. Another is a pendulum extender that fits on the end of the pendulum with a set screw. I never got my hands on one of those, but they looked like they'd do the job with a more stable assembly. I'll admit that by far is my Speed-X bug with its squeeze 'n slide weight that runs from about 12 to 40 wpm. But I've used that bug since 1952 so it fits my hand better than an old shoe, Hi! 73 Ron AC7AC -----Original Message----- You veterans probably already know this, but... I have a "Vari-speed" made by Vibroplex. It slows down the bug quite nicely. See:http://vibroplex.com/accessories.html look for "vari-speed" -- John K5ENQ ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
