Thanks Jack Quick test confirmed that the display on the K3 indicated the KPA500 was "ON" but the power remained at 100 watts. Don't remember if K3 displayed "OPERATE" when it turned on before the installation of my KAT500 & FW upgrades.

We are working on it now and will have a solution ASAP. My tests show that communications is normal after this point, meaning that the KPA properly communicates the OPER mode to the K3.
