Hi Bill,

If you Google VGA plug wiring you'll see that not all pins are connected and
some are shorted together. That's probably the reason for it not working.
You probably need a DB15 straight through male to female extension cable,
not a male/female VGA cable. You can purchase 15 pin straight through cables
from assorted suppliers. Here are links to two suppliers:
