If one is looking <only> for the occasional higher power output, I have been
using a Tokyo Hy-Power 50w amplifier with my 12w K2 (and other QRP rigs) for
some time now. Just half an S-unit (nominally) below 100w. I don't know if
THP still makes the 50w amp, but I recall it as not being expensive at all.
And extremely reliable.

A number of external amps are already available in the market for QRP rigs
if you want the 100W (e.g. TenTec model 418). Can we say the same about the
internal 2M module?
