Gil, The short answer is no.
Use the PBT knob to widen the bandpass out to its limit if you desire. On CW the limit is 2.8 kHz, and on other modes it goes up to 4+ kHz. Remember that number represents the audio bandpass limits, the signal passband in AM is twice the audio bandwidth and in FM it is much wider.
I am not certain where you thought the Roofing Filter would widen the bandwidth - in fact it restricts the bandpass before feeding the signal to the DSP ADC. The purpose of the roofing filter is to limit the number of signals off to the side of your desired signal that will reach the DSP (and AGC).
