Hello Elecrafters!

Well, there were good and bad things this last week. The BAD news is that it
cost me
$500 to insure and ship all my gear (including the generator, antenna, coax,
power
cables, backpacking tent, amplifier, power supplies, K3, preamps, headset,
connectors, CW paddle, tools, guy lines, etc. etc.) down to California for
consolidation before loading on the boat I should know by this time next week
if
everything has arrived safely and will try to include that news in the next
update.

The GREAT NEWS is that my PET and MRI scans did not show any new cancer
activity so
my oncologist says I am "good to go" The other good news is that RF Concepts
has
very generously loaned us an Alpha 8406 for 6m It has been tested up here with
my Honda 3000 generator, which also should be arriving down in California next
week.
All the details are on my website:

http://www.bigskyspaces.com/w7gj/TX5K.htm

I also packed up a portable dipole, which I can use for running a beacon if a
less
specific region is being targeted. Hope you all are also getting your 6m gear
ready
for March 1 to 11! If there is no F2, look for me on JT65A mode during your
moonset!

I am hand carrying my KX3 and interface down there with me, so I will have both
the K3
and the KX3, along with two 6m kw amplifiers. (The KX3 and 6M-1000 put out a
steady KW
key down, and so do the K3 and Alpha 8406). So, "Let the wild rumpus begin!"
;-)

GL and VY 73, Lance
