Hi, David:
A note to say that, as you suggested, I "exercised" the KAT500 over all
bands (10-40 meters) on both CW & SSB sections so there are memories
established for each band.
All is working well and, again, I thank you for your interest and
patience in helping me resolve the issues I encountered. Looking back, the
three real changes were: (1) update firmware in KAT500 and KPA500 [and P3
Panadapter], and (2) to eliminate the data cable connection between the K3 and
the KPA-500 and use the PA Amplifier Key cables between the K3 and KAT500 and
between the KAT500 and KPA500, and (3) ground all units.
Elecraft service is simply the best! Thank you, David, for your
excellent assistance.
        73,
       Cary, K4TM
       K3-100, #3448, KAT500 #144, KPA500 #698, and P3 #888
