I have a similar 80/40m inverted-V where my wires are separated by 1/2-inch painted wooden dowel about 8-inch long and spaced about every two feet. The Balun is rated for a kw but I do not run more than 300w. Center is held at 40-feet by my tower#2 and ends are at 22-feet held by a run of nylon cord to a 10m J-pole (24-foot tall) and my 25-foot high 6m yagi support mast. Works excellently on upper 80m without tuner and uses a little tuning assistance to work all of 40m.

I originally tuned the 80m wires to 3920 and then adjusted 40m to 7240 using a MFJ269B analyzer. The 40m section is bit narrow band so the tuner allows use down on 7093 for a local SSB Net (allowed in AK).

I can work anywhere in AK on 80m with this and outside to west coast when bands open (note that Alaska stretches over 2.000 miles from the tip of the Aleutians to the Canadian border). I can sit on 4125 and receive the main marine USB channel regularly out to 1,000 miles. I have run my K3/10 at 12w often on 80m with this antenna and gets out very nicely...folks are surprised it is only 12w (KX3 works equally well).
