I use a not very sharp small flat bladed screwdriver and lightly pry on the plus side of the battery against the battery holder side (lever it up). The plus side comes up fairly easily and I can remove the battery.

Even though I was confident that I did not use the wrong length of screws on the battery holder I decided to check anyway. I had a real heck of a time removing the batteries. I mean, really! I am worried that if I go through this again I could easily damage the insulated casing of the battery. Does anyone have a suggestion to making this task easier. Do you use a tool that will not damage, if so, what is it?
