I have been tracking the recent comments on RX attentuation when the KPA500 goes from Standby to Operate as I am experiencing the same issue when on 80M. I can see the signal level difference displayed on my P3, and can hear it as well. However, by contrast, I'm not really detecting it when on 40M.
I'm not sure what to do next to troubleshoot the issue. I've tried the following with no impact on the resulting attentuated signals: 1. KPA500 connected to K3 via the Elecraft cable that allows the two to communicate with each other. 2. Disconnecting the cable mentioned in #1 and connecting the K3 to the KPA500 via the K3 Key Out port. 3. Connecting the 80M antenna cable directly to the back of the KPA500 and not going through any coax switches. 4. Disconnecting any keying between the K3 and KPA500 and just switching the KPA500 between Standby and Operate. Any additional ideas as to cause or tests to run are greatly appreciated. 73 Paula k9ir -- View this message in context: http://elecraft.365791.n2.nabble.com/Another-KPA500-RX-attenuation-tp7569876.html Sent from the Elecraft mailing list archive at Nabble.com. ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
