I understand what you're saying, Rich, and it makes sense, but personally I use N1MM's CQ repeat function instead of the K3's. In N1MM, I know the key combinations to turn repeat on/off, change the repeat period, and cancel sending from the keyboard: I'd struggle to do those things on the K3 in a full-on contest, with sleep deprivation and advancing years.
If it's an easy firmware change, I'd be happy to see the K3 denote repeat mode in a different way, although there are only so many ways given the LCD segments and LEDs available. Perhaps a flashing R in the first/most significant digit of the VFO-B frequency display (alternating slowly with the frequency digit so it can still be read) would work? 73 Gary ZL2iFB > -----Original Message----- > From: elecraft-boun...@mailman.qth.net [mailto:elecraft- > boun...@mailman.qth.net] On Behalf Of Rich - K1HTV > Sent: Thursday, 28 February 2013 2:56 a.m. > To: k3supp...@elecraft.com > Cc: Elecraft Reflector > Subject: [Elecraft] K3 'REPEAT' display when using SUB rx > > In contests, I often call CQ in the REPEAT mode (Hold the M1-4 key for the > memory with the CQ in it).
