Howdy K3' people: Don was telling me about removing birdies when I mentioned they seemed all over my three transverters.
The manual says go to the IF, in this case 28mHz. Well gee ... I don't hear them on 28 megs so I wouldn't be removing anything if I tuned there and said 'remove birdies". Any of you guys see plethora birdies down around 432.0 ->432.15 and/of 144.0 ->144.2 ?? I was going to try that, if it works, before locating the sources of this monsters. Most seem to not go away if I remove the antenna. Some seem to get loud if I move cables. I could run the rig on a large 12v battery and switch the mains off .... if I wanted to reset all the microwave and clocks .. and if I remembered to disable the 10k generator that kicks in 30 seconds after a power failure. Not much in the way of businesses to generate stuff out here; nearest house about 3/4 mile but not line-of sight through the hills. -- 73 KD7YZ Bob ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
