Hi Phil: Elecraft does not run a separate reflector for the KPA500. Someone else may have set something up. If so, perhaps they'll speak up.
This reflector covers *all* Elecraft gear. I know that a number of people are using SteppIR antennas with the KPA500. There's nothing special to be concerned with. Just be sure you route the key line through the SteppIR controller so it can inhibit the KPA500 while the SteppIR is tuning. Cabling pictorial diagrams, including those for use with non-Elecraft transceivers and external devices that need to control the amplifier, like the SteppIR antennas, are in the Owner's manual. You can download it here while you are waiting: http://www.elecraft.com/manual/E740150%20KPA500%20Owner's%20man%20%20Rev%20C 3.pdf And if you want a sneak peek at the kit assembly instructions, you can get that manual here: http://www.elecraft.com/manual/E740149%20KPA500%20Kit%20Assembly%20Manual%20 Rev%20F2.pdf 73, Ron AC7AC -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Phil Irons Sent: Sunday, March 17, 2013 11:54 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [Elecraft] A newbie writes Hi there... I have just purchased a KPA500 kit, and while I'm waiting for it to be delivered--a pal is bringing it across the border for me to avoid outlandish shipping costs--I thought I'd check out the Elecraft reflector. I note that there is a lot of traffic concerning the Elecraft transceivers, however, I don't have one of them just yet; perhaps my next rig? Anyway, I'm wondering if there is a reflector specifically for the KPA500? Also, I would like to know if there is anyone using a KPA500 with a SteppIR yagi. I have a DB-18 at about 40 ft. Looking forward to some interesting reading... 73, Phil Irons/VE1BVD Sydney, Nova Scotia ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
