That's the correct connection. Set K3, P3, MK2R+ and your logging software all to 38,400 bps to avoid issues with shifting data rates. You may find it more convenient to use the serial port capability of MK2R+ with a TTL to RS-232 converter (see the MK2R+ manual pages 60 - 62) for SteppIR control. 73, ...
