I have been looking for an opportunity to sing Don's praises, so I can't let this thread go without saying something. I have never had the benefit of any service work or personal advice from Don - unfortunately, my K2 kit went together without any problems and has worked flawlessly ever since :-)
Everytime the digest of this list arrives, I scan it for K2 items (K2 owner only here). Whenever a K2 question interests me, the very next thing I look for is Don's reply, as I know that it will be reasoned and accurate. Looking for Don's answers in this list is, to me, the equivalent of looking something up in a reference book. Don is such a great asset to us all. By the way Philip, I have heard of people using RE20's with their rigs, but have never come across anyone who uses an RE27 with theirs which I assume would be easier, due to the higher output of the RE27. I connected mine directly to my K2 and it sounds fine. Predictably, it has a bit more at the bottom end than the electret mic in the Heil Traveler headset I was using. I don't think I would have purchased an RE27 specifically for ham use, but as I already had it here, it seemed a shame not to press it into service. So finally, I know another ham who uses an RE27 N/D! Dave AA7EE >Every day I see Don helping other Elecraft hams. He is a blessing for many. >Just received my KX3 and I asked him about connecting my EV RE27 mike to it >instead of the hand mike. Don set about constructing a small case with a 6 >FT cord that goes to the KX3 and on the other side is a male mike connector >for the desk mike. It's beautiful and solved my need. Charged me a very >reasonable amount and I paid with a big smile. Thank you Don! >Phil >Philip LaMarche ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
